Rice, potato and chicken puree

Ingredients

  • 120g potato (one medium potato)
  • 20g of rice (one tablespoon)
  • 80g chicken breast or thigh
  • Breast milk or formula (optional)
  • A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil

How to make rice and chicken puree for babies

  1. Peel and cut the potato into small pieces. If you are going to use a chicken thigh you will have to remove the skin and bone it, with the breast it is not necessary.
  2. In a saucepan put the potato, the chicken and the tablespoon of rice and cover it with water. Put it on the fire and when it starts to boil let it cook for 20 minutes, making sure it doesn’t run out of water.
  3. When the rice and potato are tender, transfer all the ingredients to the blender glass and blend well until a smooth texture remains. If it is too thick you can add a little cooking water, breast milk or formula.
  4. Serve it on a plate, add a drizzle of virgin olive oil and stir well. Check that it is not too hot and you can now give it to your baby.

Tricks and tips

  • When your baby grows, adapt the texture of this puree so that he gets used to chewing small pieces. Instead of using the blender, mash the potato and rice with a fork, cut the chicken into very small pieces with scissors, and then mix it all together.
