Swiss chard torrejas

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch of chard
  • 1 chopped white onion
  • 2 minced garlic
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons of wheat flour
  • grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 750 milliliters of drinking water
  • 125 milliliters of oil

Lets go cook

  • To get started, make sure you have all the necessary ingredients to prepare your chard croquettes. Take note to make it delicious!
  • Start by taking the chard from the bunch, wash it under running water and, once ready, place it in a saucepan with boiling water. He adds a pinch of salt, lets the chard soften, and when it’s soft, remove it from the heat, drain the water, and let it cool.
  • Meanwhile, heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chopped onion and minced garlic, let it fry until the onion becomes transparent.
  • On the other hand, add the flour, egg and cheese in a bowl, along with a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until all the ingredients are integrated.
  • Return to the sautéed onion and garlic. Once ready, remove them from the heat and add them to the mixture in the bowl where you put the egg, flour and cheese, mix again until everything is integrated.
  • Once cold, take the chard and chop it finely. Add it to the bowl with the other ingredients and mix again.
  • Reheat oil in another skillet and, once hot, spoon a good amount of the chard mixture into the bowl. Go placing the tablespoons of Swiss chard slices in the oil to fry. Every two minutes, flip the torrejas until they are golden brown on the sides.
  • Ready! You will have your own  delicious chard torrejas  ready to be tasted.
