Ingredients
Lets go cook
1. Prepare the chard. First, cut the final stem part and separate the leaves. Then wash them one by one under running water very well to remove all the residue they may have. Then, with the help of a knife, remove the fibrous threads from the leaves. Finally, cut them into medium pieces to your liking (white stems included) and reserve on a plate.
2. Peel and cut the potatoes into pieces as well and reserve them together with the chard.
3. Put the chard and cut potatoes in a pot, cover them with water and raise the heat to the maximum. When the water boils, add a pinch of salt and cook the vegetables for about 10 minutes.
4. Meanwhile, peel and cut the garlic into slices and heat a pan with a little oil over medium heat.
5. When the oil is hot, add the sliced garlic and when they start to brown, add the diced ham. Cook for another 3 to 4 minutes until well browned.
Trick: You can use York or Serrano ham to make this recipe for chard with ham and potatoes since it goes well with both.
6. Once the vegetables are cooked, drain them well and pour them into the pan. Cook the sautéed chard with potatoes and ham for about 5 more minutes so that they are well impregnated with all the flavors.
7. At the last moment, adjust the salt if necessary (although do not go too far if you have used Serrano ham because it is already very salty), add a pinch of paprika and sauté everything for 1 more minute to give it extra flavor.
8. Serve the chard with freshly made potatoes and ham.
