Broccoli and carrot puree

Ingredients

  • 100g of potato (half a medium potato approx.)
  • 100g of broccoli (half a small broccoli approx.)
  • 120g carrot (one large carrot)
  • Half a stalk of celery
  • A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil

How to make broccoli and carrot cream for babies

  1. Peel and wash the potato and carrot. Also wash the broccoli and celery. Cut everything into small dice.
  2. Put the vegetables in a saucepan and add water to just cover them.
  3. Put the saucepan on the fire and when it starts to boil cook over medium heat for 15 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Drain the vegetables and put them in the blender glass. Blend for a few seconds until you get a smooth texture. You can add some of the cooking water if you see that it is too thick.
  5. Pour the puree into a small plate or bowl and add a drizzle of virgin olive oil, stir well.
  6. Wait until it is warm and you can give it to your baby. Bon appetit!

Tricks and tips

  • Use chicken or meat broth instead of water when cooking for a tastier result. If your baby is over 7 months old, he will appreciate it.
  • You can substitute the celery for leeks to get a smoother-tasting puree.
