Ingredients
- 400g chayote
- A splash of virgin olive oil
How to make the chayote puree
- Wash the chayote and peel it. Remove the heart with the seeds and cut it into large cubes.
- Put the pieces in a saucepan and add water just to cover them (you don’t need to fill the saucepan with water).
- Put it on the fire until it starts to boil and cook over medium heat for about 20 minutes until it is tender.
- Once cooked, put the chayote in the blender glass and blend well. If it is too thick, add cooking water to taste to get a smoother texture.
- When it is lukewarm, serve it in a bowl, add a drizzle of olive oil and stir well. Now you can give it to your baby.
Tricks and tips
- You can also combine it with carrot, pumpkin, apple or potato.
- The chayote is in season between November and March, in those months is when it has the best flavor and is also cheaper in the market.
