Puree with green beans

Ingredients

  • 120g potato (one medium potato)
  • 90g zucchini (half a zucchini approx)
  • 50g green beans
  • 60g of leek (the white part)
  • A drizzle of extra virgin olive oil

How to make the puree with green beans step by step

  1. Wash the green beans, remove the strings from the sides and cut the ends. Cut them into pieces.
  2. Wash and peel the potatoes and zucchini and cut them into large cubes. Remove the green part of the leek and the outer skin and cut it into pieces.
  3. Put everything in a saucepan and cover with water. Put it on the fire and when it starts to boil let it cook over low heat for 20 minutes.
  4. When the vegetables are tender, take them out and put them in the blender glass. Blend well and add a bit of the cooking broth if you need a smoother texture.
  5. Put the purée on a plate and add a drizzle of olive oil. Stir well and when it is warm you can offer it to your baby.

Tricks and tips

  • You can use fresh or frozen green beans, but make sure they are tender
  • From 7 months you can add 30g of meat (beef, chicken or turkey) to the cook and mash it together with the vegetables. Another option is to add chopped boiled egg and pieces of cooked ham when serving the purée.
  • To cook the vegetables, you only need to add water to cover them. This way they better preserve all their nutrients.
