Pork ribs in BBQ sauce

Ingredients

· 500 g of pork ribs
· 200 g of ketchup
· 35 g of vinegar
· 60 g of honey
· 40 g sugar
· salt to taste
· black pepper to taste
· 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
· 80 g orange juice
Garlic
powder1 / 2 tbsp onion powder1
/ 2 tbsp ginger

Procedure :

  • First, we are going to prepare the barbecue sauce in which we will marinate our meat for several hours. To do this, we put all the ingredients in a saucepan (except for the ribs!). With the help of a hand mixer, mix well.
  • We take the saucepan to the fire. Cook over medium heat, stirring regularly, until the sauce thickens, which may take approximately 30 minutes.
  • Once we have it ready, we remove it from the heat and let it warm up.
  • If the strip of ribs is very long, cut it into several pieces.
  • We put the ribs in a bowl and smear them, on all sides, with the barbecue sauce.
  • Cover the bowl and let the meat rest for at least 2 hours. Ideally, leave it in the fridge until the next day. If you do this, we recommend that you remove the bowl from the refrigerator from time to time to stir the meat.
  • After the maceration time, we turn on the oven at 160º C.
  • We cut two sheets of aluminum foil. The size of the paper will be a function of the length of the rib strips.
  • We wrap the pieces of ribs in the sheets of paper. We must seal the ends well to avoid the loss of juices.
  • Next, we put the packages in a baking dish.
  • We take the source to the oven. Bake at 160º C for two hours.
  • After the baking time, we remove the pan from the oven and remove the aluminum foil. We put the meat back in the source.
  • We raise the oven thermostat to 230º C in the “grill” position. We put the tray, or the rack, near the grill.
  • Brush the ribs on both sides with a good amount of barbecue sauce. Place the meat with the bones in contact with the base of the pan.
We take the source to the oven. Bake at 220º C for approximately 15 minutes or until the meat is golden brown.
